Mrs. Lucille Adams Staten, who passed on February 11, 2019, at the age of 106, was honored posthumously at the annual Women’s Day Program, March 14, 2019, by the Criminal Justice Department at Grambling State University, along with Attorney Alana Belton, Mrs. Ruby Coleman, Mrs. Constance Hester, Mrs. Elaine Deberry, Mrs. O Ora Evans, Dr. Carolyn Hester, Mrs. Reller Jones and, Mrs. Thelma Richardson. The theme for the occasion was “Celebrating Women Character, Courage, and Commitment”.
