Scripture: And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth (Genesis 9:12-17).
My Friends,
On Easter Sunday or Resurrection Sunday (a term adopted by some Christians), April 12, 2020, a tragic event occurred in the southern section in our city, Monroe, LA. It unexpectedly became world-wide news. A tornado struck homes and churches in the neighborhood in which I have lived for approximately 65 years. In fact, my now deceased husband and I were among its first residents. The weather channels had warned of its impending approach, but not having witnessed a tornado before, this writer was certainly unprepared for its tragic onslaught. My next-door neighbor and friends, Rev. Pamela Blake, Mrs. Lisa Wilmore, and Mrs. Elizabeth Brown informed me of its tragic appearance and devastating results. Due to God’s grace and mercy, I had slept through the whole indescribable tragedy. However, in this blessed writer’s mind, God chose to reassure the residents of this same neighborhood in which the tornado had taken its course, He still loves us and does not plan to allow such a tragedy, which occurred on Easter Sunday to happen again.
My friends, on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, I received a blessed phone call from one of our faithful Healing Services Members and Friends, Rev. Robert Bradford, Jr., stating that God was displaying one of His double rainbows over God’s apartments on Peach Street located in the midst of our tornado attacked neighborhood.
My! My!! My!!! What a promise that HE did not intend to allow any more of His tornadoes to attack us again. NOT ONE RAINBOW, my friends, BUT TWO. Thank You, our LORD, God for always keeping Your promises and the comforts which only You can provide.
Love You! Love You!! Love You!!!
