Who or what do you praise more than God? Whom do you promote, lift up or reverence on a consistent basis? I am hopeful that you praise the One and only true and living God more than anything or anyone in the world. He is worthy to be praised!
My testimony on today is, “if it had not been for the Lord, I would not have made it. I give him the praise, glory, and honor for what he has done and doing in my life. I am grateful that ‘He looked beyond my faults and saw my needs.’ Bless the Lord for allowing me to see a brand new day-a day that I never knew would come forth. My enemies tried to destroy me, but he protected me from their schemes and tactics. I praise him for being the source of my strength, my deliverer, my Jehovah Jireh (provider), my Alpha and Omega, and all that I need Him to be. I praise him for the blood of Jesus the Christ, which cleansed me from all unrighteousness.”
The simplicity of our praise and worship is to give honor and adoration to God, our Lord. According to Strong’s concordance, the word praise is mentioned approximately 248 times in the Bible (KJV). In Psalm 150, the psalmist recorded, “Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness…let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord” (Psalm 150:1-2 and 6 KJV).
Relinquishing our heartfelt praise is necessary to show our love for Him, our trust in Him, acknowledgment of His power, His majesty, His sovereignty, and His dominion over the world and our lives. So, as we come in the presence of Him, we should be like the Psalmist David,… “In your presence is the fullness of Joy” (Psalm 16:11b KJV).
At the same time, praise him for aiding us through trials and tribulations. We must acknowledge the things God has done for us through the praise and “fruit of our lips”. The Hebrew writer recorded, “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name” (Hebrew 13:15 KJV).
As Christians, we must offer God a continual sacrifice of praise from our lips. Through good times, give him praise; through bad times, give him praise; through health and wealth, give him praise. “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!”
