Leija running for District Judge

Attorney Mario Leija has announced that he is a candidate for the upcoming open position on the Fourth Judicial District Court that will be created by the retirement of District Judge Wilson Rambo of West Monroe.

“There has been much discussion that two or more judges may retire creating open seats on the Fourth Judicial District Court bench. The position I’ve been asked to consider is the position that will be open with District Judge Rambo’s retirement.” Mario Leija stated.

Leija has worked at Leija Law since 1996 and is currently a partner at that law firm. He has experience in courts across North Louisiana including the Western District Federal Court and the Western District of the United States Bankruptcy Court. 

As a member of the Fourth Judicial District Bar Association, Leija was a past president of the Fourth District Young Lawyers Section. He is also a member of the Northeast Louisiana Bar Foundation and the American Bar Association. In 2019, he was voted one of the best attorneys in our area for the Bayou Buzz Awards.

Leija is a West Monroe native who is a graduate of West Monroe High School and Northeast/ULM. He graduated with honors from Southern University Law Center in 2010.
