Nelson Mandela said, “ There is no passion to be found in playing small, in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” It takes the same amount of energy to think small as it does to think big. Our expectations will set the limits for our future. If you expect little, you’re going to receive little. If you don’t plan for your future to get better, then it will not.
I encourage you to “swing for the fences”. This is a baseball expression that means to give 100% of your energy to hit a home run. It also means trying your hardest, score big, and maximize your effort to achieve something great. My dad ( Earnest Potter) once told me “ If you want a job, be the first one at the job before the doors open in the morning. When you swing for the fences you show up and do more than is expected. Make a commitment every morning to waking up early and going beyond your expectations. I encourage you to keep swinging for the fences. The rewards will be great.
