Scripture: Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel;…Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:8,10?-?12 KJV).
My Dear Friends,
It is a fact that Jesus Christ is the only name by which we must be saved. There are persons who have or will present themselves as savior of the world; however, they are deceiving themselves as well as others. No human will ever be able to save anyone from their sins.
For this reason, individuals must be mindful of listening and surrendering to flawed and false doctrine (teaching).
In particular, Jesus warns us of false teachers and their idealogy about salvation. He mentions in the book of Matthew, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves” (Matthew 7:15).
False prophets were prevalent in the Old Testament and are also active and common in the world in which we live today. Therefore, Jesus instructs us to be cautious and alert to the dangers of those whose words sound religious but who are incentivized by fame, money and power.
In addition, during Jesus’ ministry and his communication to the listeners on things to come, he advised them saying, “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many” (Matthew 24:4-5). Do not be hoaxed into believing that there is someone else other than Jesus Christ who saves us from our sin.
In the above noted scriptures, Peter is filled with the holy spirit and boldly preaches true doctrine to the Jewish leaders. He preached Jesus, the one who was crucified and resurrected from the dead. He reminds them of the stone that they, the builders, rejected but now has become the cornerstone. In actuality, Peter proclaims Jesus as the only way to salvation. In essence, there is “no salvation in any other.”
Jesus is the only name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. That’s a fact! Thank God for Jesus.
