Recently, it had been a few days since I heard from my daughter, and I desired to hear her voice. Therefore, I did what any parent would do-I called her. Immediately, there was a text that resonated through my cell phone that read, “Call you back”. During the night, I continued to read my Bible in addition to finishing a few house chores, and conversing with my husband while waiting for her to “Call me back.” Well, the phone call did not come that night. The next day while sitting in my office, a few hours before noon, I texted her the following, “I waited for you to call me back.” Instantly, the phone rang and she began with an explanation inclusive of the lateness of the night; “I thought you were in bed”, etc. Amusingly, I began to laugh and express to her that I did not want anything other than knowing that she were alright and that I desired to hear her voice.
I began to think about how God may feel when He wants to hear from us. If my frame of mind, as a good parent, is any indication of how He feels, then, He waits to hear from us and is excited when He does.
It is an awesome feeling to know that God cares about us-and what is happening throughout our daily lives. Like a parent who seeks to hear about the day(s) of his/her child, God would love to hear from us. Although things are going well, we must always remember to go continuously to Him in honor and reverence of Who He is.
God is always available for us to pour out our hearts to Him. David, the psalmist wrote, “Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, God is our refuge” (Psalm 62:8). When you find yourselves in trouble, you may ask God for help by pouring out your hearts to Him. He already knows what you need, but loves it when His children humbly ask Him for His comfort and help. He will come to your rescue as parents would come to their child’s rescue.
So, even though things are well with you, call Him back, He would love to hear your voice and know that things are well with thee.
God has an outstretched hand and an open heart to all who desire to come to Him. He loves us so much that He sent, His Son, Jesus, to die and to be risen for us. What a loving God!
Share Jesus with someone, today!
