God keeps His promise! We must keep ours!

Scripture Reading: …But King Hazael, King of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz. And the Lord was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast them from his presence as yet (2 Kings 13:22-23 KJV).

My Dear Friends,

Let us thank God for another day! As He allows this world not to be destroyed, we must thank and reverence Him for His graciousness, compassion and respect. The world is in turmoil, confusion and even noted as being lackadaisical when it comes to worshipping and spending time with God. We cannot help but notice the world’s condition, and the fact that the evil one is wreaking havoc all over the land.

Particularly, children are disobedient to parents; daughters are against mothers; sons are against fathers; various ones fighting and quarreling about superiority of black or white; black on black crime; white on black crime; political wars and systems setup to fail a certain class of people, etc. In addition, there “church wars” and popularity competitions while people are suffering and need someone to share that there is hope in Jesus Christ. We must thank God for His compassion as revealed by our noted text.

Undoubtedly, Israel was being oppressed by the Syrians but God was gracious and had compassion on them. Interestingly, God continues today with the same compassion toward us. He keeps His promise and covenant that He made with Abraham in the book of Genesis. God declares, “I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you…” (Genesis 17:7 NKJV).

Furthermore, in our noted text, the enemy is oppressing the children of Israel; however, our Lord sees and knows everything that we have to endure. He sees the mistreatments from fellow co-workers, the unfairness’s throughout the land, and trouble on every side. Therefore, He lets us know that His compassion and graciousness was instituted during Abraham’s, Isaac’s and Jacob’s lifetime and promised to their descendants. Do not be disheartened by the world’s distresses, but know that “God keeps His promise.” Our responsibility is to keep ours and honor Him with our lives. In doing so, people will see His light in us and desire to know Him.

“God keeps His promise! We must keep ours!” He promised to send us a Savior, and He did. He promises to return for the saints of God, and He will. Have faith and know that “God keeps His promise!
