Scripture: …And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, frankincense and myrrh (Matthew 2:11 KJV).
My Friends,
The hustle and bustle of Christmas time has made its arrival another season. There are Christmas lists being made, people are pitching hints of what they desire for Christmas and in some cases specifically sharing the most desired item or thing they wish to have.
In addition to sharing their heart’s desire, persons have saved funds for an entire year to be able to give their children and loved ones the perfect gift for Christmas. In fact, individuals want to be able to give them the best gift that is within their reach as it relates to their financial status and ability. This is truly an awesome display of love and appreciation of the person who is on the receiving end of the gift-giving.
Many years ago, the wise men journeyed to Bethlehem and followed the star they saw in the East. When the star stood over where the young child was located, they were filled with joy. As they entered the house where the star hovered, they saw the child with his mother, Mary. At this time, they worshipped Him, opened their treasures, and presented gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to Him (Matthew 2).
These wise men sought Jesus and gave Him their best. Are you seeking Jesus to give Him your best this Christmas? Do you desire to gift Him as you desire to gift your loved ones and friends? Interestingly, the gift that Jesus wants, and desires from us is free. The gift He wants is “YOUR HEART”.
Dear hearts, He wants you! Do you know that God sent Jesus as a Baby who matured as a Man just to die for our sins? The Word of God points out, “For God so love the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV). So, “Give Him your Best gift-your heart.”
Let us pray: Dear God, we are so thankful for Jesus Christ, our Savior. You gave the best gift ever to be given to mankind. Because of Your gift, we have eternal life when we accept Him as our Savior. Lord, today we pray that during this season, someone far and near will accept Jesus as their Savior. We ask that in our giving, we give our best gift to you-our hearts.
Thank You Lord for hearing and answering our prayer. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
