Funeral services for Bobby Kyles, Sr. will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the New Tabernacle Baptist Church. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Smith’s Funeral Home.
Interment will follow on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Northeast Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery in Rayville, where Kyles will be honored for his service as a retired United States Marine.
Mr. Kyles was a devoted husband, father, and man of faith. He was married to Brenda Lyons Kyles for half a century, and together they raised four children: Bobby Kyles, II; Uganda Kyles (deceased); Zakiya Kyles; and Osaro Kyles (deceased).
Known for his humorous personality and love of fishing, Kyles was deeply committed to his family and his faith.
He reared his children in the fear and respect of the Lord, setting an example for them to follow.
As a dedicated member of the New Tabernacle Baptist Church, Kyles was actively involved in various ministries. He was a part of the Brotherhood, the Men’s Sunday School Class, and the male chorus. He also regularly participated in the church’s homeless ministry, demonstrating his compassion and desire to serve others.
