Funeral services for all three victims in last week’s triple murder will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Monroe Civic Center.
Police have arrested two suspects in the murders, and the investigation is continuing.
Saturday’s service will be handled by McFarland Funeral Home

Jaborris Simpson , 25
Jaborris Ryhim Deshaun Simpson was born on November 19, 1999, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Monica Simpson and Jermaine Lamont Martin (of Little Rock, Arkansas).
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Jhersí Rhyiana Simpson.
Jaborris was also preceded in death by his great-grandmother Bertha Mae Simpson, grandmother Evelyn Ringo, grandfather Loyd Adams, and niece Cailee Brielle Williams.
He was baptized at New Covenant Christian Center Church under Overseer Moore and Pastor Orlando Freemont, where he sang in the youth choir and was a proud member of the stomp team ( P.u.s.h Boys) Jaborris played football for the YMCA from ages 4–11 and continued playing at Richwood Middle School and High School. Because of his talent and drive, he earned the nickname “OJAY.”
A graduate of Richwood High School, Class of 2018, Jaborris later relocated to Houston, Texas, where he worked for the Harris County Toll Road Authority as a toll collector. A dedicated Denver Broncos fan, he especially admired Peyton Manning.
Jaborris was a well-mannered, respectful young man who deeply loved his family, especially his mother. He later met Tab’Brea Blackson (Simpson), and together they shared a beautiful daughter, Jhersí Rhyiana Simpson. Their bond was inseparable, and they were building a life full of love and purpose.
Family meant everything to Jaborris. He cherished time with his siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He leaves to cherish his memory his grandmother, Gladys Simpson; great aunt, Marian Simpson; aunts Lakeisha Simpson (Shreveport, LA), Kenya Simpson, Miranda Simpson, Yolanda Simpson; and one uncle, Orlando Simpson.
He also leaves his siblings: Brittany Williams (Clifton), Monterius Simpson, Jaharri Simpson, Jerlesha Travis, Nijia Young, Kamryn Martin, Jordyn Martin, and one stepbrother, Jacorian Neal.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family will also forever hold him in their hearts. One special grandmother, Ora Lee Drungo.
Jaborris had a close circle of friends who were like brothers: Silarrious Brown (Tay), Lazarus Profit (Tec), DaJuan McClodden (Snooze), and Cartel Gibson (Telly).
Jaborris was a protector by all means, devoted, loyal, and full of love. He fiercely loved and protected his daughter, and that is how he will always be remembered.
Jhersi Rhyiana Simpson, 2
Our precious angel, Jhersi Rhyiana Simpson, was born on March 25, 2023, at 8:31 pm in Arlington, TX. She was a shining light who instantly brought warmth, laughter, and love to everyone blessed to know her. On October 28, 2025, at just two years old, Jhersi gained her heavenly wings and went home to be with the Lord, leaving behind memories that will forever live in our hearts.
Jhersi was full of life, joyful, playful, and bursting with personality. She loved to sing and dance, turning any space into her own little stage. She had a heart overflowing with affection, always ready to share hugs and show love to everyone around her. Even at such a young age, Jhersi’s gentle and caring spirit shined brightly; she loved deeply and made sure others felt that love too.
She adored Minnie Mouse and Bluey, and she enjoyed eating cheese pizza and French fries. She loved to play with her makeup, pretending to be a little diva just like the big girls she looked up to. Jhersi brought pure joy and comfort to every soul she touched.
Jhersi leaves behind her loving mother, Tab’Brea Blackson of Monroe, LA and is preceded in death by her father, Jaborris Simpson of Monroe, LA. She also leaves behind her devoted grandparents, Tabbie Blackson of Grand Prairie, TX, Jonathan Smith of Jeanerette, LA, Monica Simpson of Monroe, LA, and Jermaine Martin of Denton, TX; and her great-grandparents, Shirley Higgins of Grand Prairie, TX, John Blackson of Winnsboro, LA, and Gladys Simpson of Monroe, LA.
She is also preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Willie Mae and Warren Smith, both of Jeanerette, LA, and Loyd Adams of Monroe, LA, who now holds her hand and watches over her in Heaven.
She is also cherished and loved by a host of aunts and uncles who will forever hold her in their hearts: Her great-uncles, Greg Blackson and Tronica Blackson, both of Winnsboro, LA; Shirleka Blackson, Vy’Dazia Rogers, Joseph “Keemie” Blackson, Len’Niyah Blackson, Paris Gaines, London Gaines, all of Grand Prairie, TX; Brittany Williams (Clifton) of Houston, TX; Monterius Simpson, Jaharri Simpson, Jerlesha Travis, Nijia Young, all of Monroe, LA; Jordyn Martin, Kamryn Martin of Denton, TX; Jazmine McDowell of Delhi, LA; Jaylon Smith of Franklin, LA; TyJhan Smith and Dontrelle Derouselle, both of Jeanerette, LA.
Though her time on Earth was short, her impact was everlasting. Jhersi taught us the true meaning of love, joy, and innocence. She showed us how powerful a single smile can be, how comforting a small hug feels, and how deeply one tiny heart can touch so many lives.
Her light will never fade; it will continue to shine through every memory, every tear, and every smile shared in her name. She will forever be our sunshine, our joy, and our angel. Sweet Jhersi Rhyiana Simpson, always loved, never forgotten.
Jamal Bosley, 27
On September 6, 1998, in Monroe, Louisiana, a baby boy, Jamal O’Shawn Bosley, was born was born to the late Sirica Bosley Johnson and James Johnson.
He was the first child of three to be born in this union. Jamal accepted Christ in his teenage years atFirst Pilgrim Baptist Church Under the Leadership of Bishop Ricky Millage, where he loved participating in youth plays and working in any capacity needed in the youth department.
Jamal attended Shady Grove Elementary, Richwood Middle & High School and Ouachita High School. He received his GED from Ouachita Industrialization Center in 2019.
Jamal had several nicknames, Big B Bermie, Teder and Jamal Bank given to him by family and friends. He was known for shopping, joking, good food, and playing on his game with friends, but he will be mostly remembered for that distinctive laugh and always being the life of the party.
Jamal is preceded in death by his mother, Sirica Bosley Johnson, brother Deonita Bosley his grandfather Revoil Bosley, Sr.
Left to cherish his memory, his Father, James Johnson; five brothers, DeAndre Bosley, Steven Bosley, James Johnson Jr., Brandon Owens and Jamarion Wade; two sisters: Shanetria Johnson and Janetria Johnson; Grandmother Ora Lee Drungo; a Special niece Faith Johnson. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends and a bonus mom Monica Simpson.
