Frederick “Bear” McHenry officially retired as the athletic director of Ouachita Parish High School this week ending a 50 year legacy of sports administration and coaching in Ouachita Parish.
Freddy Bear has seen thousands of young men and women graduate to success in life as a coach at Richwood, Ouachita and other schools over his 50-year history. He was given a special plaque from Ouachita praising his tenure at the school since 1986.
He was praised in a retirement ceremony Wednesday at Ouachita and praised by officials and school staff for a job well done.
