Do not be overtaken in doubt, Jesus is the one

Scriptures: Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, and said unto him, art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Jesus answered and said unto them, go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me (Matthew 11:2?-?6 KJV).

Have you ever been presented messages which caused you to doubt your belief in what Christ did for us? What happens when you hear information that totally goes against what you were taught in reference to Jesus and his dying for our sins? Well, there are persons who have made it a lifetime commitment to persuade christians against their beliefs. Unfortunately, these persons are physically positioned throughout the world as well as a part of social media. With this in mind, we must be watchful when downloading bible facts to our technology devices in which we desire to use for our spiritual growth.

I must admit that I am a huge fan of Bible trivia. My recent experience with downloading a particular bible trivia app to my cell phone was not a positive one. I thought I had found the best “free” trivia game available online. But, to my surprise, it was fraudulent. Once I discovered that the questions and answers presented were designed to distort the gospel of Jesus Christ, I immediately deleted it from my phone. Interestingly, persons who do not study the Bible or have a knowledge of Jesus, would have been totally confused.

So, what does this shared discovery have to do with being overtaken in doubt? Obviously, we must never allow anything or anyone to make us doubt him. In fact, when you encounter struggles or disappointments, this is not the time to question his existence, but to hold on to the hope that he promised us.

In the aforementioned text, while in prison, John sent his disciples to Jesus asking him, “Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?” Without delay, Jesus answered John’s question by pointing to the miracles he performed. With this evidence, Jesus’ identity was obvious. Do not be overtaken in doubt of who Jesus is by what you read, hear or download that is contrary to God’s holy word he is the one!
