Now that churches have resumed some form of regular services, many have chosen to skip the religious education of their children.
Think of the impact: for three years, the vast majority of our youth have had no formal religious education at all. That’s scary.
In the three years that have passed, children have discovered life in another world called the “Metaverse.”
I first heard about it last year when Facebook’s parent company renamed itself “Meta” in preparation for this new world.
Kids and young adults live in the “Metaverse.” They enter it through virtual terminals such as Xbox or headsets. Their friends are there. So are their games, entertainment, and virtually everything else that is important to them.
In the Metaverse, they live in fine houses, drive nice cars, and they are physically gorgeous. No one gets sick, and no one dies in the Metaverse.
They are introduced to the “Metaverse” through games such as “Fortnight,” and then it grows. They attend concerts and athletic events and visit friends from around the world.
They shut out all adults and spend hours in the Metaverse as an Avatar. Wow!
The kids tell me Facebook is for old people, and they invite me to the “Metaverse” if I can hang. So I visited; it’s a different world.
If you are an adult reading this article and have never heard of the “Metaverse,” it means you are completely out of touch with this generation of youth.
