Woman uses taser to scare grandson

On June 22, 2017, according to a Ouachita Parish Sheriff deputy, a deputy responded to a disturbance call involving a juvenile. Upon arrival, contact was made with the listed arrestee, Wanda Frazier, who advised that her grandson was inside her residence causing problems, and tearing up her residence. Deputy made contact with the juvenile, who stated that his grandmother tried to tase him when he would not mind her. The victim explained that Frazier came into his room with the taser, and told him to unplug the T.V. and if he didn’t she would tase him. Frazier came at him with the taser on and attempted to tase him, but he was able to swat the taser away with a t-shirt. The victim indicated that he was able to take the taser away from Frazier and separate from her until OPSO arrived on scene. Frazier was recontacted and advised of her Miranda rights. Frazier admitted to having the taser in her hand, with the taser on, but had no intent on tasing the victim, only scare him. Frazier advised the taser went off when the victim swatted the taser out of her hand. The deputy placed Frazier under arrest for cruelty to juveniles, and transported her to OCC w/o incident.

 

Woman steals employer’s identity

On June 22, 2017, according to a West Monroe Police officer, on June 13, 2017, a local medical doctor, filed a report with the West Monroe Police. She alleges she promoted the arrestee to be her office manager approx. four years ago. She stated she had authority to manage her finances and sign authorized checks. She stated she has recently learned Pridgett took, without authorization, approx. $27,000.00 from her within the last four years. This doctor presented documentation to corroborate her findings. She also learned Pridgett used her identity to open numerous accounts charging more than $100,000.00.

 

Woman gets caught shoplifting from JCPenney

According to a Monroe Police officer, on June 22, 2017, upon arrival the officer contacted Loss Prevention, at JCPenney who said that he observed Jones and Smith select clothing from the business and conceal them in a bag and leave the business passing all points of sales. The officer spoke to Smith who said that she was at JCPenney with Toney Jones due to being forced to go there by Jones. Smith said that she did not take any merchandise from the business. Smith said that Jones committed the crime alone. The officer then informed Smith that she was captured on video surveillance by loss prevention, who watch she and Jones conceal the clothing in a large bag and exited the store passing all points of sales without purchasing the items. Smith said that Jones called her asking for a ride to the business. Smith said that she did not take any items and that Jones committed the crime alone.

 

Man tells police he had a “pretty good one”

On June 22, 2017, according to a Louisiana State Police officer, the officer observed a red Chevrolet pickup truck northbound on LA 139 constantly veering from side to side going out of its lane constantly. The officer could see the driver’s seat belt was unused. The officer activated his emergency lights and the vehicle did not pull over for several seconds. The driver was Stephen D. Walker. Walker had an odor of an alcoholic type beverage on breath, swayed as he stood, had gait ataxia, slurred speech, fumbled with his license and had bloodshot droopy eyes. Walker submitted to the SFST and showed to be very impaired and unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. He submitted to the Intoxilyzer 9000 at OCC and his BAC was shown to be 0.076g%. This was not consistent with his high level of impairment. He submitted to giving a urine sample that the officer secured. Analysis is pending at the LSP Crime lab. Walker stated he had one, “Pretty good one”, Crown and Coke. He stated he also is prescribed “Diazepam and Nordol”

 

Two men attract police attention

According to a Sterlington Police officer, on June 20, 2017, a officer observed a white Ford Crown Vic with items hanging from the rearview mirror. Upon making contact with the black male driver, Aldarrius Dowles, and the black male passenger, Willis, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicles downed passenger window. Within the vehicle the officer located the following: a burnt marijuana cigarette, a glass jar containing marijuana, plastic bags with the corners torn off, a plastic vacuum sealed bag with marijuana residue, and scales. All of these items are components of narcotics sales. After being advised of their rights per Miranda, neither Dowles nor Willis claimed ownership of the marijuana, bags, or scales.

 

Man runs from police with cuffs on

On June 20, 2017, according to a Ouachita Parish Sheriff deputy, the arrestee was contacted for walking in the roadway and failing to move for oncoming traffic. During contact, verbal consent was gained to search the arrestee. During the search, suspected crack cocaine was located inside the arrestee’s pocket. With the benefit of Miranda, the arrestee claimed possession of the suspected cocaine. After placing the arrestee in handcuffs, he fled on foot. After a foot pursuit, the arrestee was apprehended and transported to OCC.

 

Man steals vehicle with two guns inside

On June 20, 2017, according to a Monroe Police officer, a officer was dispatched to a residence in reference to a w/m in a white Nissan who appeared to be very disoriented. The caller advised she was afraid to open her door to talk to him. The officer was flagged down by a w/m in the 1500 block of Orange St., which is a block from the address he was dispatched to.
The officer advised the subject to walk back to the car where he made contact with him. The officer conducted a pat down for weapons and located a Cum Prod INC .22 short revolver (unloaded) in Johnson’s back right pants pocket. Johnson was detained and placed in the officer’s unit at the time. Further investigation revealed that the 2013 Nissan Altima was a stolen vehicle out of OPSO. Johnson was then advised per Miranda. A search of the vehicle revealed a H&R .22 revolver under the driver seat where Johnson advised that he had been sleeping. The officer also located numerous live .22 bullets in the console of the vehicle. Johnson stated that he did not know where the guns came from. He also advised that he did not know he had the pistol in his back pocket.

 

Woman stabs man following an altercation

On June 20, 2017, according to a Monroe Police officer, a officer was dispatched to Parkview. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with Miller. The victim had been stabbed in his right shoulder and was transported to St. Francis Medical Center for treatment. While at St. Francis, the victim stated that Miller stabbed him while they were arguing. The victim stated him and Miller had been living together for three and a half years. Miller was arrested for domestic abuse battery.

 

Man hides from police in attic

On June 23, 2017, according to a Ouachita Parish Sheriff deputy, the deputy went to a residence to look for suspect due to active warrants. The deputy made contact with a woman who gave the deputy permission to enter the residence. The deputy located Johnson’s wallet with ID on the bed. The deputy had previously arrested Johnson from this location on May 5, 2017. The deputy searched the attic but did not locate Johnson. The deputy located a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun with ammo in the bedroom closet just below the attic access. The deputy later located the duplex owner. The owner advised that she had rented the apartment to Johnson back in April of 2017. The owner also gave the deputy access to the apartment. The deputy gave several verbal warnings for Johnson to show himself and come out of the attic. The deputy and Semmes had to enter the attic and remove Johnson from the attic. The shotgun was entered into evidence. Johnson was booked into OCC without incident.

 

Woman arrested for property damage

On June 24, 2017, according to a West Monroe Police officer, two officers were dispatched to a damage to property call at Motel 6. Upon arrival the officer made contact with the complainant. The complainant informed the officer the suspect was located in room 252 with friends. The complainant told the officer the suspect (Zoe Kitchell) rented room 242. The complainant explained while cleaning the room they observed several light fixtures were removed from the wall and a hole was in the wall. The officers made contact with room 252.While knocking on the door,one of the officers detected a smell of burnt marijuana emitting from inside the room. The officer made contact with the tenant of the room and three other individuals. The officer advised the individuals of their Miranda rights, which they stated they understood. Kitchell was inside the room.
Kitchell informed me she rented room 242 but had several friends stay in the room. Kitchell denied knowing about the damage or who conducted the damage. The officer placed Kitchell under arrest. The officer transported Kitchell to the West Monroe Correctional Center. The other individuals in the room were also arrested for separate charges. Due to these separate charges, Kitchell was transported to the Ouachita Correction Center. Kitchell is being charged with simple criminal damage to propety.
