Correction- Albert Paxton

In the June 20, 2020 edition of the Free Press, Albert Paxton was erroneously listed as an officer of the Monroe Police Department who tased Alphonse Brown in 2019.

Mr. Paxton’s name appeared on the Monroe Police Report as the “informant” but he was not the arresting officer.

Mr. Paxton is a State Trooper assigned to investigate Brown’s death but was erroneously identified as the MPD officer being investigated.

It is the goal of the Monroe Free Press to publish reliable information. On occasion, we error. We apologize to Trooper Paxton for any inconvenience this error may have caused him.
