“Come to Jesus, while you have time”

By Lisa Wilmore

Dear Friend,

Who or what is keeping you from accepting Jesus as your personal Savior? Who or what have you placed your hope in? Can it or they provide the promise that your sins have been washed away, forever? Please continue to read this message while I enlighten you about my Savior, Jesus, who died for the sins of the world.

Who is Jesus? Jesus is the One who came to earth to set us free from bondage. Yes, we were enslaved by sin-held hostage and captive by wickedness with no hope. However, He came and freed us from the sins of the world-only if we believe. He came so that we could have life eternally.

My friend, Jesus was nailed to a cross for the sins of the world. Our Savior never did anything wrong but died and was raised from the dead for you and me. Every sin that has been committed by the world, He died for it. We were guilty and deserved what was coming to us; nevertheless, when we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, we are declared not guilty. He has paid the penalty for our sins.
In the Bible, the Old Testament highlights sacrificial offerings made by the people of God. Sacrifices such as goats, lambs, turtledoves, etc. were used to atone for the sins they had committed. God was so gracious and merciful to accept the sacrifices of the people for their committed sins. An important fact to remember is that Jesus did what all the animals could not do. The animals covered the peoples’ sin, but Jesus washed their sins away. He took the place of the goat, the lamb, the turtle dove, etc. so that you and I could have eternal life.

So, as the psalmist says, “Come unto Jesus while you still have time. Come unto Jesus, make up your mind. He will make your life brand new; For He will take care of you. Come unto Jesus while you still have time.”

The psalmist continues, “Just knowing Jesus sure has paid off in my life. Come to Jesus while you have time. Though you may not have a friend, He’ll go with you ‘til the end. Come to Jesus, while you have time” (the late Rev. Charles Nicks).

Do not wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow is not promised to you. Give Jesus your life, today.
Do not worry. He has already taken care of your sins. John 3:16 declares, “For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
