A local educator has a list of degrees he has achieved over the course of his life, but recently he received a final sheepskin to hang on his wall, this time in religion.
Bernard Menyweather, at age 84 is proud of his Doctorate of Philosophy in Theological Studies he earned recently during graduation exercises at the Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, La. The graduation was broadcast live.
Because of his age, it was more of a challenge this time. The last time he completed a degree was in 1979.
Menyweather is a native of Monroe, Louisiana. He is the middle child of four siblings. Menyweather has been married to Thelma J. Menyweather for fifty- five years. From their union came one daughter, MonaLisa Michelle, and two grandsons, Nicholas D’ Andre’ and Cameron Alexander.
