Be the Game Changer – Don’t wait for change. Create it

By Rusty Potter

There comes a time in everyone’s life when we have to make a decision: will you adapt to the game as it is, or will you be bold enough to change it?

We live in a world that often rewards conformity and punishes those who take risks. It’s safer to stay in your lane, to go along with what’s always been done, and to blend in. But history, progress, and personal breakthroughs are never born from comfort zones. It means deciding that excuses are over, and excellence starts now.

Take Viola Davis, for example. She became the first in her family to graduate from college, and later the first Black woman to win the Triple Crown of Acting: an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Tony. She didn’t just break barriers – she bulldozed them.

Or look at Dwayne “The Rock “Johnson, he had just $7 in his pocket at one point – no fame, no plan B. But he became the first in his family to break into Hollywood, to become one of the highest-paid actors in the world, and to build a global brand rooted in hard work, humility, and hustle.

These stories remind us that being the first doesn’t mean being the most qualified; it means being the most determined. It means being the one who says, “I’m not settling for less just because less is all I’ve seen.” There is power in going first, even when it’s uncomfortable. Even when others don’t understand.

Even when the path has never been walked before.

So hold your head high. You’re not just achieving for yourself – you’re rewriting the story for everyone who comes after you.

Be proud to be the first. And don’t stop until you make sure you’re not the last.

Today, I challenge you: don’t just be a participant in life. Be a game changer. Let your story inspire others to rise. Let your actions pave the way for future generations. Let your faith be louder than your fear.

The game will never change until someone dares to change it.

Why not you?
