Scripture to Ponder: As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you” Mark 5:(18-19).
My Friends in Christ,
First, it is a blessing and an honor to share meditations and expressions with you through this God-given method of communication. He has been good to me! As scripture reminds me,“This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24). Futhermore, I thank him for his traveling grace from home to work each day thus far. My heart is joyful and appreciative of his divine protection.
Next, the message today is in reference to sharing our stories with others. It is important to realize that if we are willing to share our stories, people in our communities and work places would receive the encouragement they need to be revived. We must not be fearful of sharing our stories due to embarrassment or shame. However, we must share with others how God delivered us from certain burdens that were hard to bear.
In the noted text, Mark pens the miraculous healing of a certain man who is possessed with demons. Afterwards, he desires to follow Jesus. But Jesus tells him, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you” (Mark 5:19 NIV). Although the man’s desire to follow Christ would have been ideal, he instructs him to remain and tell others, what he had done for him. Are you willing to tell your story in order to bring God glory? We not only should tell others about the deliverance of bad situations in our lives but also the cleansing of our souls from sin. Tell them the story of how he has set us free and gave us eternal life through his Son, Jesus. Now that’s the story that brings God the glory.
Generally speaking, the statement, “Don’t rain on my glory, until you’ve heard my story” has been quoted by many individuals who have either gone through trials or have been delivered from difficult situations. Well, what about verbalizing the title used for this message, “Tell others your story to bring God the glory?” Your story could be the one that would give hope to someone else’s impossible situation.
