ALL VENDORS MUST BE CURRENT WITH ALL PROPERTY AND SALES TAX OWED TO THE CITY OF MONROE AND COMPLETE THE ATTACHED TAX AND REVENUE SALES TAX COMPLIANCE FORM.

 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, at its regular meeting place, the Council Chamber, City Hall Building, Monroe, Louisiana, Tuesday, June 10, 2014, beginning at 6:00 p.m., to hear and consider all comments, protests and objections relative to the 2014 Justice Assistance Program (JAG) Grant for the Monroe Police Department.

      NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a copy of the program narrative is on file in the City Clerk’s Office, 2nd Floor, City Hall Building and can be examined by the public during regular business hours Monday through Friday.

      All persons who wish to comment, protest or object to any portion of the above mentioned Grant are urged to attend this meeting.

Purchase of Water Meters and Meter Supplies

Overview

 The City of Monroe (OWNER) hereby invites responses to this Request for Proposals (RFP) for the purchase and delivery of certain materials. Responses to this RFP shall be submitted in accordance with the outline provided herein. The selection of the successful Proposer shall be to the approval of the OWNER.

 This RFP does not commit the OWNER to award a contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of a proposal, or to procure or contract for the articles of goods and services. The OWNER reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received as a result of this RFP, to waive informalities, to negotiate with all qualified Proposers, or to cancel in part or its entirety this RFP, if it is in the best interests of the OWNER to do so.

In order for your Proposal to be considered, sealed proposals must be received by the Purchasing Division of the OWNER, located at 1014 Grammont Street, Monroe, Louisiana, 71201; telephone (318) 329-2293, either by mail or hand delivery no later than 1:45 P.M. June 24, 2014 at which time and place the proposals will be opened at 2:00 PM and taken under advisement. Proposals received after the 1:45 p.m. deadline will be returned to the proposer unopened. 

Proposers also have the option to submit bids electronically. To submit a proposal electronically, bidders must register at www.bidexpress.com.

Request for Proposals are available to Proposers who are bona fide suppliers of materials and equipment for purchase and/or review at the office of the Engineer for the RFP, Denmon Engineering located at 114 Venable Lane, Monroe, LA 71203.

A payment of $25 in cash or check payable to Denmon Engineering will be required for each complete set of the RFP.

Notice of Public Auction
Monroe City School Board

The Monroe City School Board will sell the following surplus items at online public auction with closing times
as listed on site for Monday, June 16, 2014:

Teacher desks, computer armoires, audio visual carts, student desks, file cabinets, data storage racks, piano, electric stove, podiums, microwave, computer monitors, projector screens, exercise equipment and other items.

Auction will be conducted online at www.govdeals.com.  Items will be available for submission of bids on May 29, 2014.

Items are available for inspection (at 3 different locations) on June 4 and 10, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.:

Location #1:  2836 Breard Street, Monroe, LA  71201   Viewing will be from the rear entrance on St. Charles Street. 
Location #2:  300 Sherrouse Ave, Monroe, LA 71203    The former Career Development Center Building
Location #3:  2939 Renwick St, Monroe, LA 71201        Carroll High School –Monroe City Schools

All items are to be sold "as is” with no guarantee or warranty of any kind.  Monroe City Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids and remove items from auction. 

Government agencies may purchase surplus property at fair market value directly from Monroe City Schools.  Agencies wishing to do so should contact Monroe City Schools no later than 3 days prior to auction close.  First priority for the acquisition of surplus computer equipment shall be given to public elementary and secondary schools in the State of Louisiana and community and technical colleges under the management and control of the Board of Supervisors of Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges.
