     NOTICE is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on the following ordinance, Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber at Monroe City Hall:

Ordinance authorizing the City of Monroe to take corporeal possession of the property described below and sell to New Hope Pentecostal Temple, for two thousand four hundred thirty-six and 40/100 dollars, all rights, title and interest that the City may have acquired in and to lot one (1) of square five (5) of J. W. Johnston’s Addition, District 5, Monroe, La, by adjudication at tax sale dated June 30, 1998, and further with respect thereto. (Legal)

     is on file in my office complete in the form in which it will be offered for final adoption, open to the inspection of the public and will so remain for the period required by law prior to being offered for final adoption thereof.

EMERGENCY ORDINANCE

STATE OF LOUISIANA      NO:   11,467_______
CITY OF MONROE

 The following Ordinance was introduced by Ms.  Blakes__________ who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Dr.  Armstrong_______.

AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE CONDITION OF THE ROCHELLE STORM WATER PUMP STATION AN EMERGENCY  IN IMMEDIATE NEED OF REPAIR  AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.

 WHEREAS, in the recent rain storm on April 5-6.2014, one of the pumps at the Rochelle Pump Station was damaged by an object which entered the pump through the storm water flow and rendered the pump  inoperable; and

 WHEREAS, there is a diminished pumping capacity which presents a danger to the Rochelle service area which could cause flooding and property loss to residents and property owners in that area, and

 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the necessary repairs be declared an emergency and thereby endangering the health and well-being of citizens and personnel as well as to the property and equipment of the Rochelle Pump Station.

 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Department of Administration be and is hereby authorized to utilize the emergency provisions of the Louisiana state bid law, R.S. 38:2211, et seq., to repair this condition.

 This Ordinance having been submitted in writing was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote being thereon as follows:

AYES: Council Members Armstrong, Ezernack, Blakes, Wilson & Clark

NAYS: None.

ABSENT: None.

 And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  8th___ day of April, 2014.
