Man busted after selling $3,000 in stolen Aluminum
Suspect says he found it in a ditch!
When someone walks in a recycling business with $3,000 worth of aluminum, all of the bells and whistles start to sound.
That’s what happened Monday morning when Jonathan Palmer showed up with a large amount of aluminum to sell as scrap metal.
The officials of Monroe Iron and Scrap advised Monroe police that they had in their possession a large amount of aluminum that was possibly connected to a recent theft.
When the cops arrived it turned out that the aluminum was sold by Palmer. The suspect told police that he did sell the merchandise, but he found it in a nearby ditch.
Police didn’t buy that story, so Palmer was arrested for felony theft, simple theft, and possession of stolen things.
