City Hall, Monroe, Louisiana

There was a legal special session of the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana held this date at the Council’s regular meeting place, the Council Chamber, City Hall Building, Monroe, Louisiana.              The Honorable Vice Chairman Dr. Armstrong called the meeting to order and declared a quorum was present. He then asked the clerk to call the roll.              There were present: Council members Armstrong, Ezernack, Blakes & Wilson 
             There was absent:  Mr. Clark was running late.
   The Honorable Vice Chairman Dr. Armstrong declared a quorum was present and stated the object of the meeting; that being to consider:  (a) Finally adopt an Ordinance adopting the authorized Millage Rate(s) and providing for the Levying of Special and General Taxes for the City of Monroe for the year 2013. (Admin.)

(Mr. Clark, Chairman entered the meeting at 12:37 and convened over the meeting at that time.)
 
Ordinance No. 11,439 was offered for final adoption by Mr. Wilson and on his motion seconded by Mrs. Ezernack was unanimously approved and adopted. (There were no comments from the public.)
  
 Ordinance adopting the authorized Millage Rate(s) and providing for the Levying of Special and General Taxes for the City of Monroe for the year 2013. (Admin.)

The Chairman asked if there were any questions or comments from the Council.

Ms. Blakes wanted to know if this had anything to do with the election on November 16th as to why the special meeting was needed.

 Mrs. Stacy Haynie, Administration Department, explained that this has nothing to do with the election. This has to do with the property tax roll Millages for the City of Monroe for the 2014 tax roll.  She further noted that the State Auditors had a problem with the way the notice was written and the adjustments were made and re-advertised to meet their time line as well as the time line of the Tax Assessor’s Office, so they can amend their 2014 tax roll.

 The Chairman asked if there were any other questions hearing none the Clerk to call the roll.

 There being no further business to come before the council, the meeting was adjourned at 12:40 p.m. upon motion of Mr. Wilson and seconded by Ms. Blakes
