Jones arrested after shooting victim in the mouth

    On February 26, 2013 Fredrick L. Jones was arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery and attempted second de
gree murder after officers responded to a 911 call from the victim stating he had been shot. The victim was located on Hwy 594 just past Frontage Rd and was transported to St. Francis Medical Center where he was treated for a gunshot wound in his mouth.
    The victim provided a statement at the hospital. He advised he and Jones went to a location off Frontage Rd. to have sex.
    Once at the location Jones brandished a weapon and forced the victim out of the car and told the victim to give him all his money but he did not have any. He then shot the victim in the face, put him in the car and told him he was going to take him to the hospital. 
   Jones drove the vehicle in a different direction away from the hospital. The victim feared he was going to dump him in the woods so he jumped from the moving vehicle. 
  At some point during the next few moments Jones ran over the victim causing injuries to his legs. Jones then attempted to flee but wrecked the vehicle. As he exited the vehicle the victim armed himself with a stick for protection. Jones told the victim to tell the police someone else shot him. Jones was transported to O.C.C. and booked.
