Monroe native, Roosevelt Wright, III has been working real hard as a National Spoken Word Artist and Author but recently landed a role for HBO’s #1 Series, "Treme". He will appear as a furious Treme resident who is upset with the City Council for making changes in their neighborhood without including local residents in their plans.
Treme is written by the same award winning directors who produced HBO’s longtime hit show, "The Wire". Wright is represented by Terry McNeal and the Del Coral Agency in New Orleans. He began acting in small church plays at Tabernacle Baptist Church as a child. He has been in over 40 stage plays and he accredits all of his development to his father and his high school acting coach, Carolyn Brass.
Wright will play the speaking role in episode four in Season 4 of Treme which will air in 2013. His managers predict his role will expand into bigger opportunities for him on the National Filming Scene.
