My Mind is a Pearl, Inc. will be hosting our 4th Annual Parent and Student Resource Fair-Stop the Violence- at Madison James Foster Elementary, 1310 Richwood Road #1, on Saturday, August 27th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This exciting event is free to the public. Parents and students are encouraged to attend. The purpose of this event is to assist students and parents in becoming lifelong learners, build a healthy esteem, and to provide information for them that will afford them the opportunity to utilize community resources. School supplies will be given to the students that attend Madison James Foster Elementary. My Mind is a Pearl, Inc. is a non-profit organization that has the mission of improving the conditions and the lives of children in our community. Founded by Cleoria Dunn, the organization promotes this yearly event throughout Northeast Louisiana to provide much needed school supplies and motivation to school children in low-income communities. Will sponsor The Louis G. Scott Tribute Luncheon at the Northeast Louisiana Delta African American Museum in Monroe, LA at 1:00 pm. The Luncheon, a fundraiser for the Memorial Fund’s scholarships and other programs, is being held in recognition of the legal and community work of Attorney Louis Granderson Scott. The program, which promises to be uplifting and enjoyable, is scheduled to end at 4 p.m., but Grambling and Southern football fans in the Monroe area or persons enroute to other activities or commitments are still encouraged to stop by the African American Museum in order to honor Attorney Scott and support the John H. Scott Memorial Fund. Tickets for the Luncheon may be purchased at www.jhsfund.org/louisgscott.
