Announces an expected 90-day closure of the Elm Street bridge due to a Bridge Replacement Project on Elm Street. The project consist of replacing the existing bridge east of Lincoln Elementary and west of Gardner Denver. The contractor will start installing road closure signs on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. The permanent closure will start Monday, December14, 2015.
Detours East side – Central Ave to Transport to Delta Drive and Back to Kansas Lane
West side – Sherrouse to Powell Avenue
North side - Sherrouse to White Street. Type of construction Remove the existing bridge and rebuilding . Time Frame 90 calendar days. Contractor - Womack and Sons

Learn the basics of digital photography and editing in this six week workshop. Tuesdays, February 23 – March 29, 2016 from 6:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Masur Museum Carriage House. What you learn: The class will cover the basic camera settings such as aperture and shutter speed, exposure control, depth of field, composition, digital camera menus, histograms, and very basic image editing. Classes will be small and relaxed with plenty of time for discussion and hands-on experience. What you need: The only requirement is a either a digital SLR (such as a Canon Rebel or Nikon D40) or an advanced point and shoot with manual settings. Please call or e-mail if you are unsure about your camera. About Jenny Ellerbe: Jenny Ellerbe is a Louisiana native and a self-taught photographer who has received national acclaim for her work. She has been featured in the publications Lenswork, Louisiana Conservationist, Arkansas Review, and Louisiana Life. Her work is represented by the Afterimage Gallery in Dallas, Texas. She has previously taught workshops for the Ansel Adams Gallery. In 2008 a monograph of her work, Here is Home, was published by the Canadian firm of Scotia Waterous.
