The City of Monroe Engineering Department and Sewer Division make the following announcement in regard to a temporary daytime road closure on Jackson Street between the hours of 8 am and 3 pm, for an expected time period of August 25 - October 3, 2014. Detour routes are included. The following is notice of a temporary road closure.Where: Jackson Street (165 Bus) north bound will be closed from Vernon Street to Hippolyte Ave Jackson Street (165 Bus) south bound will be closed from Hippolyte Ave to Vernon Street When: Starting Monday August 25,2014 until October 03,2014 at 8:00 am to 3:00 pm daily Detour Routes: South Bound- Lee Ave to Forest - Forest to S. Grand - S. Grand to 165 Business South - North Bound - South Grand at Richwood Rd #1 to Forest Ave to Jackson Street (165 Bus) North. The Rayville Rosenwald/Eula D. Britton High School Alumni Association is announcing a half price membership drive

From August – December 2014. Membership in the Alumni Association is open to any person who is interested in preserving the legacy of this great historic school and the gymnasium as the only remaining structure. School graduates are encouraged to support this institution which was the foundation for their future. Community supporters are urged to join the association with all rights and privileges of any alumni member. Membership dues are tax deductible. Well, the graduates of Carroll High School are coming together Friday, September 19th, during the Carroll High School Football Homecoming weekend; where the Mighty Bulldogs will battle it out on the football field against Peabody. We will continue the celebration on Saturday, September 20th at the Clarion Hotel for a Semi-Formal Banquet starting at 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm and on Sunday, September 21st, we will fellowship with Macedonia Baptist Church, Rev. R. Williams, Pastor; service start at 10:45 am. We will return to the Clarion Hotel for lunch following church service. The cost is $125.00 for a couple and $75.00 for a single person.
